According to the data announced by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Turkey which hosted 2 million 6 thousand tourists in the same month of last year, hosted 2 million 47 thousand 27 foreign visitors in January 2024.
In Turkey, which closed the year 2023 with a record in tourism, the increase in the number of tourists arriving in January was 2.1 percent, slightly below the 5-3 percent increase seen in the last five months, except for the decline in November last year.
While 16 thousand 345 of the 2 million 47 thousand people who came to turkey in January 2024 were day-trippers, Russia ranked first with a share of 11.26 per cent and 230 thousand 579 people, Iran ranked second with a share of 10.35 per cent and 211 thousand 801 people. Bulgaria, Germany and Georgia followed these countries respectively.
In 2023, a total of 56.7 million visitors and 54.3 billion dollars in revenue reached the figure of $ 99 per person per night spending in Turkey.
