10 million 654 thousand 94 of the visitors to Turkey in the first four months of 2024 were foreigners, while 2 million 24 thousand 865 Turkish citizens visited our country according to the statistics of the Turkish Statistical Institute for the last three months.
In the first four months of 2024, the total number of visitors reached 12 million 678 thousand 959, while the number of foreign visitors increased by 11.75 per cent compared to the same period last year.
In the first 4 months of 2024, Germany ranked first with an increase of 16.20 per cent and 1 million 122 thousand 930 visitors, while the Russian Federation ranked second with 1 million 78 thousand 294 visitors. Iran ranked third with an increase of 51.78 per cent and 946 thousand 437 visitors, followed by Bulgaria and England.
However, the number of foreign visitors to Turkey in April increased by 8.71 per cent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 3 million 611 thousand 244. In April, Germany ranked first with 434 thousand 863 people, while the Russian Federation ranked second with an increase of 4.07 per cent and 396 thousand 155 people. In April, the UK ranked third with an increase of 18.01 per cent and 330 thousand 112 people, followed by Bulgaria and Iran.
