A city from Turkey topped the ranking of the world's most visited cities listed by market research company Euromonitor International.
Istanbul ranked first in the worlds most visited cities announced by Euromonitor International with 20 million 200 thousand tourists last year, while London ranked second in the list with 18 million 800 thousand visitors and Dubai ranked third with 16 million 800 thousand visitors. Antalya, the capital of tourism, ranked fourth on the list, followed by Paris, while Hong Kong, which regularly ranked high in the rankings as the most visited city in the world before the pandemic, found itself in 6th place this time.
Time Out magazine explored the top reasons for Istanbul's rise to the top spot, citing Turkey's relaxation of visa requirements for travellers from the US and Canada, coupled with its dazzling landscapes, cultural richness, shopping opportunities, historical richness and blend of Asian and European culture, While writing that the increasing popularity of the city is one of the reasons, it was stated that London, the second most visited city in the research, once again reached its pre-pandemic level with 18.8 million visitors, and despite leaving the EU, the capital of the UK continues to be one of the most popular travel destinations in the world.
Dubai, the third most visited city in the world, has become more popular in recent years with its impressive skyscrapers such as Burj Khalifa, summer heat and lifestyle, combining traditional Arab culture with modern culture.
