The results of the research conducted by the UK-based Bounce travel research company within the scope of Google searches (Google Search) based on the last 3 months revealed that the first travel preference of British tourists and travel lovers is Turkey.
Turkey, which has become the first choice by the British with a total of 102 thousand 900 searches from Google Search in the last 3 months, especially thanks to Istanbul's rich history, culture and Antalya's sunny weather and warm beaches throughout the year, has emerged as the most popular holiday destination for the British in 2024. While the second choice of the British in the list was Iceland, it was revealed that the British looked at this country 95 thousand 200 times in the last 3 months through google search. The capital Reykjavik, with its vibrant culture and proximity to natural wonders, is one of the most searched cities by the British, while the British have added this route to their second choice to see the Northern Lights.
The third most popular country for British tourists was neighbouring Greece with 70,700 searches, with the Mediterranean country being a popular destination for British tourists thanks to its mild climate during the winter months, especially in southern cities such as Heraklion, where temperatures can reach up to 18 degrees Celsius in December. Athens, the capital city, was another cultural favourite as it is home to ancient landmarks and more than 80 museums.
