With the summer heat slowly making itself felt, preparations for the holiday season have begun, and in parallel with the increasing inflation and the increase in the prices of hotels in Turkey, foreign holidays have become more affordable for citizens.
While hotels are already busy booking for the summer season, the cheapest places for a one-week holiday in popular holiday destinations in Europe have also become a matter of curiosity. While accommodation and holiday prices in Turkey continue to force the economy of the citizen, the British site Which, which compiled the cheapest holiday destinations in Europe for a week and examined a total of 4,500 holiday packages in 15 European countries, more than 70 regions, calculated how much an average holiday will cost in countries and regions for a week.
So where is the cheapest holiday in Europe, how much can you do? Here is that list...
1. Kelemez Island, Greece: 847 pounds (Approximately 34 thousand TL)
2. Thassos Island, Greece: 862 pounds (Approximately 35 thousand TL)
3. Lefkada, Greece: 935 pounds (approximately 38 thousand TL)
4. Costa Brava, Spain: 952 pounds (Approx. 38 thousand TL)

While Turkey is not included in the cheap holiday list which includes many countries from Europe, this situation was considered surprising by the researchers. In the study, it was emphasised that Turkey and Bulgaria, which generally offer cheap holidays so far, were not included in the list in 2024. For the summer of 2024, the top five destinations were listed as follows on the British Which site, which also investigated the cheapest regions for all-inclusive holidays:
Compiling prices for 4,558 package holidays from the UK's largest tour operators Jet2holidays and Tui in March 2024, British Which has listed prices for a seven-night holiday in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, France, Greece, Greece, Italy, Malta, Montenegro, Morocco, Portugal, Spain (including the Balearic Islands and Canary Islands), Turkey based on the average price for two people sharing a standard double or twin room, including flights departing on or around 3 August.
Including only destinations with minimum holiday availability in its research, the site excluded major cities from the results to focus on holiday destinations, while selecting all destinations that are not discounted on both Jet2 and TUI.
