The number of tourists travelling to Spain, Turkey's tourism rival, increased by 18% between January and October 2023 and exceeded 74.7 million. Spain attracted around 63 million tourists in the same period of 2022.

According to the data compiled by Tourism Databank from the Spanish National Institute of Statistics (INE); In this period, the most tourist inflow to the country was from the UK with 15.4 million.
The UK was followed by France with 10.3 million and Germany with 9.6 million. All these three markets grew by around 14 per cent. The Scandinavian market, which exceeded 4.1 million, also grew by 13 per cent.
Number of tourists by province
In this period, the highest number of tourist arrivals in the country's provinces was in Catalonia with 15.8 million. Catalonia was followed by the Balearic Islands with 14 million and the Canary Islands with 11.2 million.
Andalusia also welcomed 10.8 million tourists.
