The European Statistical Office, which published the 2022 data on the total number of tourism enterprises and hotel bed capacities of the European Union countries, announced that there are 28 million 903 thousand bed capacities in 621 thousand 572 touristic enterprises in the European Union (EU) countries.
According to the published data, last year in Italy, which is the country with the highest number of touristic enterprises and bed capacity, 224 thousand 644, 110 thousand 493 in Croatia, 56 thousand 174 in Spain, 48 thousand 742 in Germany, 30 thousand 221 in Greece, 28 thousand 834 in France, 23 thousand 984 in Austria.
Bed capacity was recorded as 5 million 200 thousand in Italy, 5 million 59 thousand in France, 3 million 771 thousand in Spain, 3 million 611 thousand in Germany, 1 million 408 thousand in the Netherlands, 1 million 279 thousand in Greece, 1 million 127 thousand in Croatia and 1 million 65 thousand in Austria.
Italy and France have more than 1 third of the total number of bed capacity of touristic enterprises in EU countries.
