The new hotels are the result of IHG's focus on sustainable growth across Europe and include new hotels across the company's five brands, including InterContinental Hotels Resorts, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn Resort.
IHG's first hotel in Mersin was established in partnership with investor Köknar Turizm San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. as IHG Hotels first hotel in Mersin, Holiday Inn Mersin will be a 95-room hotel and will be part of a new financial development in the city, offering easy access to the city centre and the seaside via public transport, making it an ideal solution for business and leisure travel. The hotel is scheduled to open in late 2026.
Holiday Inn Express Istanbul Arnavutköy, scheduled to open in Istanbul at the end of 2025, will be a 64-room hotel near Istanbul International Airport. The hotel, which will be opened in cooperation with the investor Fıratım İnşaat Gayrimenkul San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti., the hotel is planned to have a bar, restaurant and terrace.
Holiday Inn Resort Bodrum, which opened in the summer of 2023 as the first Resort Hotel under IHG Hotels in Turkey, offers 266 rooms in Bodrum Bardakçı Bay. Set on the slopes overlooking the Aegean Sea, the resort is the perfect escape from everyday life with pools, spa, three restaurants and five bars.
Crowne Plaza Yalova will open in spring 2024 as IHG's first hotel in Yalova in cooperation with Martı Thermal Tourism Construction Industry. The hotel will feature 106 rooms, a restaurant, patisserie, meeting space and a lobby bar with a ballroom. The hotel will also offer excellent spa, fitness and wellness areas for those who live in neighbouring cities such as Istanbul and want to enjoy the hot springs and beaches of Yalova.
Crowne Plaza Kayseri, which will open in Q2 2024 in cooperation with Hüma Sağlık Hizmetleri A.Ş., will offer 186 rooms, a restaurant, lobby bar, meeting space, fitness and spa area. A first for the Crowne Plaza brand in the city, the hotel is conveniently located for Kayseri's industrial area, city centre and Kayseri football stadium. The hotel is also located close to Mount Erciyes, one of Turkey's most famous ski resorts, adjacent to a renovated, full-fledged hospital.
The 231-room InterContinental Bursa hotel, signed at the beginning of the year, will be a luxury hotel in the country's fourth largest city. Developed in co-operation with hotel investor Atis Yapı, the hotel is scheduled to open in early 2025 and will be one of the largest hotels in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Turkey is already home to the InterContinental Istanbul on the European side of Istanbul, overlooking the Bosphorus and the historic peninsula. Also signed in 2021, the InterContinental Grand Ankara will open at the end of 2024.
IHG has 30 hotels in operation in Turkey, with a further nine hotels scheduled to open with Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Hotels Resorts and Holiday Inn Express.
