In a statement made by Rostock-based Arcona Hotels Resorts, which reported that it filed for bankruptcy due to economic difficulties in its operations in Germany, it was noted that the aim was to preserve the company as a whole and reposition it for the future.
While the wrong investment decisions taken for the rapid growth of the company after the huge decrease in the number of guests due to the coronavirus epidemic that affected the whole world put the company in difficulty, external factors such as the war between Ukraine and Russia, bottlenecks in energy supply and high inflation were also effective in the bankruptcy application.
Lawyer Ulrike Hoge Peters, appointed as interim administrator, announced that a plan for the restructuring of Arcona Hotels Resorts, founded in 2008, will be prepared and that the company's hotels outside Germany will not be affected by the bankruptcy.
Founded in 2008, Arcona Hotels Resorts has 15 hotels in Germany and 2 hotels in Austria and Spain.
The salaries of the employees of the company, which has a total of 500 employees, were secured with bankruptcy loss compensation until the end of January.
