According to the news of the tourism news Center, which is the news source of the tourism sector in Turkey, The European Parliament (EP) has approved the decision to grant visa-free travel to the European Union (EU) for Kosovo passport holders starting next year.
"Kosovo citizens will be allowed to travel to the EU and EU citizens to Kosovo without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period, and EU citizens will be allowed to travel to Kosovo," the EP said in a written statement following the vote in the EP Plenary.
Thus, the entire Western Balkans region was included in the scope of visa exemption with Schengen, the EU's visa-free travel area.
Thanks to this decision, Kosovo citizens will also be able to travel visa-free to Norway, Sweden and Liechtenstein, which are not EU members but are included in Schengen.
The decision will enter into force after it is published in the official newspaper.
