A disgrace at the fast food chain Burger King, which opened in Florida, USA in 1954 and has tens of thousands of branches in many countries, including Turkey, has become the center of international attention.
Jaime Christine Major, a 39-year-old assistant manager at a South Carolina branch of the company, was taken into custody following a customer complaint after a woman working as an assistant manager served customers French fries she had dug out of the garbage.
Eyewitnesses describing how Major served the fries he pulled out of the garbage said: "He put the fries he pulled out of the garbage on the counter, then put freshly made fries on top and served them.''
Major, who had a fight with the customers, was taken into custody and if found guilty, Major could be sentenced to 20 years in prison, while the fast food chain burger king did not make a statement on the issue.
