In a statement on her social media account, the British Ambassador to Ankara, Jill Morris, said that since her arrival in Turkey, the UK has been working closely with Turkey on many issues of importance to both countries, including a visit to the IDEF defense fair in Istanbul and the announcement of the UK's support to Turkey for a major railway project worth more than 780 million Euros, noting that 3 British ministers visited Turkey in the last week alone.
Recalling that the UK and Turkey have agreed to start negotiations on a new Free Trade Agreement, British Ambassador to Ankara jill morris said:
"As always, Turkey is a very popular holiday destination for British tourists and this year we expect the number of tourists from the UK to break a record by exceeding 4 million. As with any trip abroad, I encourage all visitors to read the FCDO Travel Advice Report for the best information before coming to this beautiful country.''
The British Ambassador to Ankara, Jill Morris, added that the UK is committed to continuing to work throughout the remainder of 2023 to further strengthen the partnership between the United Kingdom and Turkey to make both countries safer and more prosperous.
