Big scandal at Crystal Centro Hotel! Their rooms were found to be illegal

Despite the warning of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the demolition of 44 illegal rooms in the facility named crystal centro hotel under the roof of Kilit Hospitality Group located in Antalya Aksu Kemerağzı Neighborhood 12687 block 5 parcel despite the warning of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Aksu Municipality entered the 2023 Court of Accounts Report with the illegal construction in the region, and the report stated that the municipality did not take any action based on the letter of the Ministry of Culture and tourism regarding the construction contrary to the zoning legislation, As a result of the inspection carried out by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, it was reported that 44 rooms were created on the roof floor of the hotel located in Kemerağzı Neighborhood, block 12687, parcel 5, in violation of the zoning legislation, but no action was taken by the municipality.

FIRST WARNING THEN DEMOLITION

According to the provisions of the legislation, when a building in violation of the project and its annexes is detected, first an administrative fine is imposed, and if the violation is not corrected within 30 days, a demolition decision is taken. In the Court of Accounts report dated 06.11.2023 and numbered E-71490862-324 of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, it was stated that on 09.09.2023, an inspection was carried out at the facility operating with a 5-star hotel tourism management certificate, and that 44 illegal rooms were detected and reported to the municipality with the arrangements made on the roof floor of the facility and the fine construction-furnishing and decoration works were not completed:

''In the actual-physical inspection made on site, it has been determined that there are still rooms on the roof floor of the hotel in violation of the project and that the fine construction works have been completed. As a matter of fact, although the Ministry of Culture and Tourism made the aforementioned determination and notified the municipality to take the necessary actions, no action was taken. As a result, it is necessary to take action within the framework of the Zoning Law for the additional rooms that the hotel has built on the roof floor in violation of the project.''

DEMOLITION ORDERS NOT IMPLEMENTED

In addition, the report made a separate assessment of the failure to carry out the necessary legal process regarding the demolition of the buildings in Aksu District, and according to the findings of the Court of Accounts auditors, the following information was given on the subject:

“It has been observed that the building demolition decisions issued by the Municipal Council due to being illegal or not in compliance with the license and annexes have not been fulfilled. Buildings that are not brought into compliance with the license or not licensed by the owner within one month must be demolished within 2 months by the council or provincial administrative board according to the relevant administration and demolished within 6 months. In addition, buildings that are not demolished within 6 months can also be demolished by the ministry by covering the demolition costs from the relevant administration. As a result of the examination of the buildings that were decided to be demolished by the municipal council due to violation of the Zoning Law; it was determined that only 18 of the 731 buildings that were decided to be demolished between 01.01.2013-31.12.2023 were demolished, 45 of them were demolished, and the remaining 668 buildings were not demolished despite the demolition decision. The Administration should initiate the necessary works and procedures for the demolition of the buildings that are in violation of the Zoning Law and for which demolition decisions have been taken by the Municipality Council in accordance with the legislation.''
